Technology Assessment & Strategy
Background:
The merger of two financial institutions required outside help to assess the Information Technologies used by their respective organizations in order to prepare for the merged company. Both companies were operating efficient information systems that gave them a leading edge on their competition in their respective markets. Decisions needed to be made in terms of the new corporation’s technology directions and overall technology architecture both for Day One connectivity and the longer term vision.
Approach:
Our team was retained to organize and assist the Operations and Technology transition groups to objectively assess the sets of processes and technologies in order to make recommendations. Specifically, we facilitated work sessions between the two groups, implemented a systematic approach to the decision making process and provided them with best practices and overall technology advisory services, conducted off-site work sessions to identify issues, discuss technologies to be selected, propose next steps and ultimately develop recommendations.
Outcomes:
Made strategic and Day One recommendations related to technology integration.
