M&A | Realizing Acquisition Deal Value

Realizing Acquisition Deal Value

Background:

One year after the acquisition the downstream components of the acquisition were not integrated.  The acquired company operated under a non-integrated operating model. As a result the business unit was under a burdensome cost structure  and demonstrated poor financial performance. We helped the client realize the acquisition business case and strategic cost alignment.

Approach:

Worked with operations leads to develop a business articulation map and a business model aligned with the business group strategy and moved from multiple operating units to a single functional operating business unit. Performed a comprehensive review across key functional areas within the business group to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and effectiveness.

Outcomes:

Realized the expected business benefits and eliminated redundant operating groups. Enhanced business focus by creating a single set of operating priorities. Lowered operating costs and eliminated non-value added activities. Enhanced business reporting and organizational alignment.
